Keeping us all in stitches

Amid the driving freezing rain and hail thunderstorm nastiness, about 400 knitters gathered last night.

On the left is the Yarn Harlot, Stephanie Pearl McPhee. Can't you tell? Yeah, I can't see her either. Good thing she's soo darn funny, then.

Aside from laughing a lot, last night we learned how knitters are less likely to have dementia or Alzheimer's in life because of our daily constant-- plenty of theta time. Fascinating.

For me, the best part of the night was The Yarnery's fantastic pre-show. I was mightily impressed. Staffers and Men's night knitters were great as the Yarn Harlot Family Knitters. Angie re-wrote lyrics from the Sound of Music-- and it was absolutely hilarious. You really should go check it out for yourself on YouTube! (Thanks to Shelly for posting these!)

Sarah took photos of a few audience members last night-- here's Renee in her adorable new top, moi, and Deepa in her colorful Rosedale Cardi.

It was great to see all of the Minnesota knitters (and tri-state area, Ms. Cathy-Cate!-- and International knitters-- Ms. Holly!) out enmasse last night!

Boy, that harlot sure gets around! I missed her in Denver last week, alas.

It's actually an old blouse - at least a couple of years old. But I'm glad you like it!!

Thank you so much, you just gave me todays biggest laugh! I've linked to you and to the songs so maybe some Danish knitters will have as much fun...

I'm more than slightly envious that you got to see the Harlot...

The pre-show was really fun! : )

It sounds like it was so much fun! But I can't say that I'm totally sorry I wasn't there, having spent the evening listening to the sleet pound against the windows. I would have spent the whole evening worrying about the drive home--not a good way to enjoy Harlot.

Well, I missed it again, but between Lacrosse and my theta time - it just didn't happen.

That picture of you, Renee and Deepa is really nice. Has anyone ever told you how lovely your coloring is? That red hair and pale skin is a knockout!

Hi Debra - it was nice to meet you at Yarnover Saturday. I'm glad I ran into you on my way out : ). I've enjoyed looking at your posts about your handspun. It gives me inspiration, as I bought a spindle kit at the 3 Kittens booth and spent a couple of hours yesterday starting to make my very own handspun! So thanks for sharing.

The prep-show was awesome. I'm still humming. And it is so fun to read the book and hear Stephanie's lovely accent and dry witty delivery.

Great to connect in the Bohus class and now through the Bohus group on Ravelry. Cheers!
